Alfred J. Ciraldo

      Al Ciraldo, retired Vice President of Sport Sales for WCNN in Atlanta, Georgia, began his broadcasting career at WJW (Akron) in 1937 as an assistant broadcaster at Akron Yankees Baseball, Akron University Baseball, and Goodyear and Firestone Basketball.       During his 56-year career, Ciraldo had several titles at several radio stations in Georgia – but at every station – he also worked in sports!       Residents of Georgia know and love Al Ciraldo best for his long affiliation with Georgia Tech. For 39 years, he was the play-by-play announcer for all Yellow Jackets’ football, basketball and baseball games. He broadcast over 1500 games. Even now, he is active as pre-game, half time, post-game and coaches’ show broadcaster.
