Butler
started her career in 1979 as a “D-Jay” for W.H.L.O. In 1984, she was a
“D-Jay” for W.C.U.E. and from 1995 to 2000, a commentator for W.N.I.R.
Carolyn is the daughter of the well-known Rev. Elvin H. Brown. Her father
taught her to “love the community”. With that, Carolyn effortlessly
tried to continue his consistent positive and productive contributions to
the
Akron
community. Carolyn first started
with fifteen minutes of gospel music on W. H.L.O. After six months, she was
given thirty minutes. For six years, she assisted her father on W.C.U.E.
with hours of pop (soul) music and talk. She continued on her father’s
talk show on station W.N.I.R., and is currently broadcasting on W.O.I.O. TV.
