Carol (Scheeser) Coulter

      Carol (Scheeser) Coulter was a leader in the radio industry. In 1941, she became one of the first female Control Room Operators in the county. Hired by John Aitkenhead of WADC for a probationary period of six weeks, she proved herself and was hired permanently after just three weeks.
      Carol controlled all of the radio equipment, played all recorded spot ads, music and controlled the microphones. She was in constant contact with the State Road transmitter and with CBS.
      She left the station in 1946 and in 1955 became a legal secretary – a position she held for 27 years.
      Her husband died in 1974 and she remarried in 1982. Carol (Scheeser) Coulter lives in Stow , Ohio .
