Hazel Botzum

      Hazel Botzum was born in Akron in 1916. She was employed by WAKR in 1954. For over thirty years, Hazel’s pleasant voice and efficient manner have been recognized by the thousands of listeners to WAKR-WAEZ Radio and viewers of WAKR-TV. Her peers and associates describe her switchboard operation as exceptional in her ability and courtesy of daily answers to innumerable questions and the dispensing of information. In addition, her duties included tabulation and direction of phone calls to the various departments and personnel of WAKR’s AM, FM and TV.
