Joseph J. Grant *

     Joseph Grant was born in 1925. His first radio experience as an announcer began at Station WPUV in Pulaski , Virginia , from 1949 until 1951. Joe came to Akron in 1951 and was immediately employed by Station WADC. In 1953, he was hired at WAKR and spent six years there. He performed many roles in broadcasting at both of these Akron stations as an announcer, newscaster, control operator, weatherman and on-location remotes. After some TV experience at WAKR, in 1969 he moved into the television field in Cleveland , remaining at Channel 8 until his retirement.
