Peter Gabriel began his radio career in 1957 with Armed Forces Radio. After some time in smaller markets, he became Program Director with Taft Broadcasting in Columbus, Ohio and then moved to Kansas City for six years as P.D. for KCMKO and KUDL. In 1978, he became the morning drive host for WKBN in Youngstown, where he also served as Operations Manager for 12 years. He wond the McCleans National Disc Jockey contest in 1967, receiving a Mercury Cougar as a prize. He has served as officer and member of many community service clubs, organizations and committees. Youngstown's annual St. Patrick's Day parade was created, organized and directed by Gabriel in 1979 and regularly draws thousands of participants every March. | |
