Ralph Ross Bellito
"Boots Bell"*

Moving to Youngstown 's WHOT in 1959 from WBUZ in Fredonia , New York , "Boots Bell 's” innovative style and fresh approach quickly caught the attention of local listeners. In the 1960's, he hosted WYTV's TV Dance Party, a regional show similar to American Bandstand. His personal interview with The Beatles was a highlight among recollections of working with pop, soul, and other British invasion starts. In later years, he worked for WNIO, WGFT, WNRB, and CD-106, The Wolf. He also ran Bell productions, free-lancing on commercials nationwide, and taught at Youngstown State University.
He was known for charitable appearances such as local Jerry Lewis Telethon and the Soap Box Derby . For many years, he emcee’d the Trumbull County Fair, where he was honored for his involvement just two days before his death in 1993. He is still remembered for his sign-off: "Yes, indeedy, doody-daddy. Have yourself a happy!"
