William C. Glasser *

A radio station is only as good as it sounds to the general public and WHBC AM/FM sounds great! The credit for this goes to Bill Glasser who serves as Director of Engineering for the Beaverkettle Company (owner and operator of WHBC). Since 1976, Glasser has managed the physical plant and capital improvement for the three-site broadcast operation and supervised all electronic communications systems, maintenance and operations. Prior to this, he spent ten years as staff engineer and studio supervisor.

Glasser’s involvement with the technical side of broadcasting is not limited to his position at the Canton, Ohio station. His work with the Emergency Broadcasting System has benefited all residents of East Central Ohio. He is the Chair of this region’s Emergency Communications Committee of the EBS. In 1973 and 1985, he authored the East Ohio EBS operational plan. Also in 1973, he established the working plan with broadcasters and the National Weather Service Office at the Akron-Canton Regional Airport for rapid dissemination of severe weather information.
